Religious Activities

BCCSC is actively searching for a permanent meeting space. Stay tuned!

BCCSC does not have a full-time imam, but we still keep our schedule busy with activities that are of interest to our members.

Friday nights we meet for tea and discussions on various Islamic topics led by sister Maryam. The coed get-together begins with maghrib prayer and usually ends with isha.

We also like to organize mevlud and celebrate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, s.a.w., or commemorate important events in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Srebrenica genocide. On such occasions, we’ll invite an imam from neighboring states to join us and lead the prayer.

Ski trips, camping and nature hikes are also some of the ways we like to get together and build our iman. Please join us, we'd love to have you!

BCCSC organizes community picnics about five or six times a year, with a goal of bringing together its members, most of whom are former refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We grill cevapcici - ground beef formed into sausage links and served in pita bread with cabbage salad or onions - play sports, drink coffee, support each other, and most importantly, watch our children form friendships.
