What are the benefits of membership?

The major benefit is participation in governance of BCCSC. This includes the right to vote, being eligible to be elected to the Board, and weighing in on major decisions regarding the future of BCCSC.

There are also intangible benefits of being a member of BCCSC. We are all here in the United States, our adopted home, away from our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina. We value and appreciate our host country and all that it has provided so generously for us. However, we cannot and should not forget our roots and our traditions and it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to do what is in our power to retain our identity. The simplest way to help us all foster our traditions is to take an active role in organizations such as BCCSC. Its mission is to help us retain our traditions through a variety of both religious and non-religious activities.

 

How much does it cost?

Membership dues are $30 per month or $360 per year per family. A “voting” member is an individual/family who has submitted a complete application form, pays the membership fee and
who is subsequently eligible to vote during BCCSC Assembly (Skupstina). Suspension of membership occurs after three months of non-payment and member’s status will change to “inactive” until BCCSC receives a request for reinstatement. In appropriate circumstances BCCSC offers discount on membership, and in situations of extreme hardship BCCSC will accept membership without any dues.
