ISOC’s mortuary was established in 2005 and has been serving the needs of the local Muslim community with care and dignity. All aspects of funeral arrangements are handled discreetly. The kafan (shrouding) is prepared according to the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The mortuary is well-equipped and observes high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
The mortuary has its own private lounge and viewing room where family and friends can congregate and view their loved one in privacy prior to the funeral. Salatul janazah (the funeral prayer) is generally held immediately following the dhuhr (noon) prayer.
ISOC’s religious directors are available to offer guidance, support, and answer any questions family and friends of the deceased may have.

ISOC Funeral Director Br. Goulade Farrah is experienced in providing quality funeral services. Under his direction, the mortuary has remained in compliance with all state regulations regarding proper funeral and burial arrangements, as well as health and safety codes. Br. Goulade is available to help family members through the funeral process and can provide the deceased’s family with the Consumer’s Guide to Funerals and Cemetery Purchases prepared by the California Department of Consumer Affairs and Cemetery Bureau, as well as a general price list of goods and services offered by ISOC’s mortuary.

Islamic Marriage
Please first obtain marriage license and marriage certificate form at your local Clerk-Recorder office. Call BCCSC to schedule an appointment with an Imam to perform Islamic marriage ceremony and sign marriage certificate form. Then you’ll need to submit the completed marriage certificate form to the OC Clerk-Recorder office, to ensure your marriage is recognized by United States law as well as in accordance with Islamic law.
